Prohibited Items Policy

This policy sets out the general prohibited-items rules for events promoted by Rum and Reggae Chester Ltd.

Because our events take place at different venues, additional or different restrictions may apply to a particular event.

Please always check the relevant event page and FAQ before attending.

General Prohibited Items

Unless expressly permitted for a particular event, guests must not bring:

• Weapons or items intended for use as weapons

• Illegal drugs or substances

• Fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or other pyrotechnics

• Explosives

• Candles, BBQs, camping stoves or other naked flames

• Glass bottles, jars or containers

• Drones or other unauthorised flying devices

• Laser pointers or laser equipment

• Air horns, megaphones or similar disruptive devices

• Large or unauthorised sound systems or speakers

• Professional audio, video or photography equipment without prior permission

• Outside alcohol

• Unauthorised merchandise for sale

• Unauthorised advertising, leaflets, promotional or commercial materials

• Animals or pets other than assistance dogs

• Any item reasonably considered by event security to present a safety, security or serious disruption risk

Additional venue-specific restrictions may apply.

Bags

Bag-size rules vary between events and venues.

Please check the relevant event information before travelling.

As a general rule, guests should avoid bringing large bags unless necessary.

Bags and belongings may be subject to reasonable security searches as a condition of entry.

Anyone refusing a reasonable search required for the event may be refused admission in accordance with the applicable Terms & Conditions of Entry.

Security Searches

Depending on the event and venue, security procedures may include reasonable searches of bags, belongings or persons.

Any searches will be carried out in accordance with applicable law and event security procedures.

Mobility aids, medical equipment and accessibility equipment may also be subject to reasonable and proportionate security screening, but necessary disability-related equipment will not be prohibited simply because security screening is required.

Food & Drink

Rules concerning outside food and non-alcoholic drinks vary by event and venue.

Please check the relevant event information.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, guests must not bring their own alcohol into an event.

Reasonable exceptions will be made where food or drink is genuinely required because of:

• A medical condition

• Disability

• A dietary or health requirement

• Another genuine essential need

Where possible, please contact us before the event if you need to bring something which might otherwise be restricted.

Medication & Medical Equipment

Necessary personal medication and medical equipment are permitted.

Medication should remain in its original packaging where reasonably practical.

If you need to bring needles, controlled medication, specialist equipment or a larger quantity of liquid, you may wish to contact us beforehand so that entry can be made as straightforward as possible.

Mobility & Accessibility Equipment

Wheelchairs, mobility aids, assistance-dog equipment and other items reasonably required because of disability are permitted.

Accessibility equipment may be subject to proportionate security screening.

Please contact us if you are unsure whether a particular item needs to be notified in advance.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are permitted.

Ordinary pets or animals are not permitted unless a particular event expressly states otherwise.

Photography & Recording Equipment

Personal photography and short videos on mobile phones are generally permitted unless the relevant event or artist information states otherwise.

Professional photography, audio or video equipment, tripods and equipment intended for commercial recording require prior permission.

Artist or venue restrictions may apply at particular events.

Chairs, Umbrellas, Bottles & Other Event Equipment

Whether items such as the following are permitted depends on the type of event and venue:

• Camping chairs

• Picnic blankets

• Umbrellas

• Reusable bottles

• Cool bags

• Food containers

• Pushchairs

• Large flags or banners

These items are therefore not automatically prohibited or automatically permitted under this general policy.

What Happens if You Bring a Prohibited Item?

We do not guarantee storage facilities for prohibited items.

Where a lawful item is not permitted into the event, you may be asked to:

• Return it to your vehicle or another safe location

• Remove it from the venue

• Dispose of it

• Voluntarily surrender it to security where that option is available

Items voluntarily surrendered may not be returnable.

Illegal items or substances may be reported or handed to the police or another appropriate authority.

Possession of a prohibited item may also result in refusal of entry or removal from the event where permitted under the applicable Terms & Conditions.

Venue-Specific Restrictions

Individual venues, licensing authorities, artists or event safety plans may require additional restrictions.

These may include different rules relating to:

• Bag size

• Bottles and containers

• Furniture

• Umbrellas

• Food and drink

• Photography

• Smoking and vaping

• Re-entry

• Personal electronic equipment

Any additional restrictions will be communicated through the relevant event information where reasonably possible.

Where an event-specific rule differs from this general policy, the event-specific rule applies for that event.
